What a year it has been! Last week on May 30th, we celebrate our 1st Anniversary at Liberty Park Children’s Dentistry. We definitely felt the love from our patients and new friends who came out to party with us over Doodles, cake, face painting and balloon animals. “Sparkles” was a hit as she not only painted faces but she also twisted balloons into unique creations of a bumblebee corsage, a banana tree with a monkey climbing up the side, a giant sunflower, a unicorn, and more! It was so neat to witness the intricate web of connections that some of our patient families were able to make with each other because this in itself is a testament to one of our practice goals: forming relationships and forging connections with our patients and their families.

In addition to seeing some familiar faces, we were honored to meet some new families who visited us for the first time, including several families who live in the neighborhood but who never knew we were tucked away in this quiet and picturesque nook of Stonegate Drive.
As we enter our 2nd year, we endeavor to increase visibility and to focus on establishing a solid DENTAL HOME for children in Alabama. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry stresses the importance of the establishment of a dental home for all children, which is where there is an ongoing relationship between the practice and the children we serve for the delivery of comprehensive oral health care in a continuously accessible, coordinated, and family-centered way. We started a tradition last year when we first opened that we will have a new unique design for our practice t-shirt every year. This year’s design pushes the DENTAL HOME message to the forefront and we plan on making this our main message for the upcoming year.
We’ve made plenty of mistakes and learned many valuable lessons in our first year, but we were able to overcome every obstacle as a team. Liberty Park Children’s Dentistry cannot function without Kelsey Fisher and Stefani Harrell. These women always work hard to ease the way for our patients and their families!
Lastly, we want to recognize and celebrate our patients. We are humbled every day by their bravery as they overcome their dental anxiety at the dentist. We look forward to growing this upcoming year to better serve our patients and hope to see lots of new faces at our practice!
